It's a Long One!!!
Garmin Connect - Activity Details for What a day!!!
What a fantastic day for a ride, Sunny & negligble wind, I'm not sure if I've seen the steam from the power station cooling towers going straight up before!!!
I set out with a 100km+ in mind but just couldn't resisit being out on such a wonderfull day, ended up clocking up touching 200km. Now very tired & very satisfied.....

Audax: Camelia & Canal Bridges:
Check out this Garmin activity
Audax: Camelia & Canal Bridges:
I haven't ridden much since 21st June when I did Flat out in the Fens & Julie came a cropper on her charity ride & broke her collar bone. So I only entered for the short ride today & wasn't sure how I'd go. The day was overcast but warm. Just before the off Ian the organiser asked if I'd take a start sheet to the first control for the guy there. This gave me the impetus I needed to get there early so the controller had the list.
To my surprise I set off & just rode away from everybody, getting to the first control about 10mins early. I was gone from there before any other riders arrived, passing a lot of them shortly after as the route doubled back for a bit.
Collecting the information clues along the way I ended up at the second check point whilst the controller was just getting his pot of tea & cake to settle in for the job, still ahead of schedule.
As I set off from the second control I watched the Red Arrows performing for the Shackerstone Show, or was it for the riders!
Pushing on over & over the canal bridges I ended up gatting back to the finish 30mins before time & the Village Hall was still locked up. I posted my card, went home for a shower & poped back to sign off, (in the car), before heading off to Warwick for the Criterium Races.
A great full & busy day.
